If you haven’t had a chance to read Neil Gaiman’s American Gods online this month, you only have a few days left. You may remember that Gaiman took a poll and American Gods was elected the book his readers would most want to see online for a free reading period of one month. That month is almost up now. To date, there have been 68,000 unique visitors to the book pages of American Gods and 3,000,000 book pages viewed in aggregate. But perhaps the most interesting statistic of this online experiment has been Gaiman’s weekly book sales of American Gods … they’ve risen by 300%, making publisher Harper Collins quite thrilled.
