Author Michael Koryta is about to hit the road as The Cypress House is released on January 24. Much like last year’s So Cold The River, The Cypress House combines suspense and the supernatural.

But before he does his road thang, Koryta will be part of the 2011 faculty for the 7th Annual Eckerd College Writers Conference: Writers in Paradise. He will read and sign books on Thursday, January 20, at Miller Auditorium on the Eckerd College campus in St. Petersburg, FL, at 8:00 p.m. Joining him and also reading is author and Florida International University instructor John Dufresne (Reqiuem, Mass).

Additional readings that week include Pulitzer Prize winner Richard Russo (Empire Falls) on Saturday, January 15; Writers in Paradise co-director Sterling Watson (Sweet Dream Baby) and Les Standiford (Done Deal, The Man Who Invented Christmas) on Sunday, January 16; Jane Hamilton (Map Of The World, Book Of Ruth) and poet Peter Mienke on Monday, January 17; Julianna Baggott (Madam) and Ann Hood (The Red Thread) on Tuesday, January 18; Laura Lippman (I’d Know You Anywhere) and Tom Perotta (The Abstinence Teacher) on Friday, January 21; and best selling author and Writers in Paradise co-director Dennis Lehane (Moonlight Mile, Mystic River) on Saturday, January 22. All events are free and open to the public.

Then Koryta hits the road running with stops in Florida, Indiana, Ohio, Michigan, Texas, Arizona, and California. A complete list of dates and destinations is available here: Michael Koryta
