Jamais Vu: The Journal of Strange Among the Familiar
New Pro Market from Post Mortem Press
From Post Mortem Press–which has published the likes of Jack Ketchum, Clive Barker, F. Paul Wilson, Jonathan Maberry, Joe Hill, Tim Waggoner, Gary A. Braunbeck and many others–comes Jamais Vu – The Journal of Strange Among the Familiar, a new quarterly-published magazine dedicated to presenting the best in dark fiction, poetry, factual morsels, criticism, and more.
Beginning September 1, 2013, Jamais Vu will be open to submissions for its first issue, scheduled to debut January 15, 2014 (Winter), closing October 15, 2013. Accepted fiction, articles, and poetry will be paid professional rates. Full details can be found at http://www.jamaisvujournal.com/submissions.php.
Paul Anderson, editor of the acclaimed 2012 anthology Torn Realities for Post Mortem Press, and Acquisitions Editor for the company, will be taking the role of Managing Editor for the new publication. “Not to be cliché, but I’m looking for material that blows me away,” Anderson says. “I typically print out submissions because reading a screen for an extended period of time kills me. But I want stories, articles, and poetry that won’t allow me that chance–I want a hook line that grabs me, situations that hold me, and endings that knock me flat. Make my eyes hurt with awesome.”
Post Mortem Press publisher Eric Beebe says, “Post Mortem Press started with anthologies, we believe in the short story. My plan is to return to our roots and provide readers with high quality short fiction, non-fiction, criticism, and poetry with a regular cadence through Jamais Vu.”
