In their most successful market outing to date, Monster Pictures, genre label and producers of Australia’s premier cult film festival Monster Fest (set for November 24-27, 2016) have picked up eight new titles at this year’s Marché du Film, including the festival’s most coveted genre buzz film and feature debut of French director Julia Ducournau, RAW.
Adding to its recently-announced first quarter slate of acquisitions (including Argyris Papadimitropoulos’ acclaimed SUNTAN, Danny Perez’ ANTIBIRTH and Jim Hosking’s THE GREASY STRANGLER) and Ducournau’s RAW – about a vegetarian who takes a dark turn following a carnivorous college hazing ritual – Monster is now the proud ANZ distributor of Anurag Kashyap’s Bombay crime thriller PSYCHO RAMAN, Nicolas Pesce’s haunting directorial debut THE EYES OF MY MOTHER, Billy O’Brian’s I AM NOT A SERIAL KILLER starring Christopher Lloyd and young actor Max Records (WHERE THE WILD THINGS ARE), Rohit Mittal’s angry feature debut AUTOHEAD, supernatural horror SATANIC, UK/Dutch slasher THE WINDMILL MASSACRE from the producers of FRANKENSTEIN’S ARMY (and starring Aussie actor Noah Taylor) and a highly anticipated in-production horror anthology to be announced shortly.
