Horror fans are getting ready for the time of their lives at KillerCon 4, the coolest horror convention on the West Coast, now in its fourth year, to be held at the majestic Las Vegas Stratosphere Hotel from September 20-23, 2012. Barbara Vey, Publishers Weekly columnist who attended the first ever KillerCon, called it a “wild and crazy” weekend in 2009, a reputation that has only intensified with each year.
Events to be held at this year’s convention include a grammar workshop hosted by none other than “Grammar Girl” Mignon Fogarty, a self-editing for fiction writers workshop delivered by The Editorial Department’s resident horror fiction editor, R.J. Cavender, Pat MacEwan’s one-of-a-kind alien autopsy, and plenty of contests to go around, including the famous Gross-out contest, an erotic horror flash fiction contest, a creative fiction contest, and more. There will also be parties every evening, the first of which is hosted by Samhain Horror (September 20), followed by Shock Totem Magazine (September 21), topped off by a double-whammy with Cutting Block Press and Deadite Press teaming for a joint celebration (September 22).
About The Convention: KillerCon had its first iteration four years ago, founded by former MMA fighter and Extreme Horror author Wrath James White and fellow horror scribe Monica J. O’Rourke. After trying for years to bring the World Horror Convention to Las Vegas, Wrath and Monica started their own convention for horror writers in the Las Vegas area, and every year, each convention has been more successful than the last.
Killercon 4 is scheduled to feature such guests of honor as William F. Nolan, Kelley Armstrong, Jack Ketchum, F. Paul wilson, Don D’Auria, Brian Keene, Eric Red and Mignon Fogarty.
