by Rose Blackthorn
Tom leaned close, eyebrows raised and eyes wide as he attempted to peer up his right nostril. The light-bar above the mirror flickered, and shadows fluttered across the bathroom wall behind him.
“Damn moths.”
Chin tipped up, neck straining and eyes beginning to sting in anticipation, he inserted the end of the tweezers into his nose. Carefully, he clamped the slanted metal tips onto the offending black filament.
“Disgusting.”
He took a deep breath, and before he could change his mind, yanked hard.
The moth dragged from his sinus cavity flailed until he released it to join the rest.
