Surprise!

The room was dark. She lay in bed typing. The glow from the laptop screen illuminated everything in front of it but left a black void behind it. Someone could be standing four feet in front of her and she would never even make out a silhouette. She felt her cat’s tail gently tickle her bare toes. “Kitty, kitty.” She called out. A movement to her left caught her eye. Her cat raised its head from a deep sleep.
