Spirit Board
by Bethaney Nielsen
‘Why do people do this?’
‘They like a scare.’
The ghosts watched as two teenagers fidgeted over a spirit board.
‘Grandma’ one teen said. ‘I want to ask a question.’
‘Where’s my money hidden?’ Grandma mocked.
‘Can they hear us?’ asked the boy ghost.
‘No! And it’s in the library.’
‘Ask the boy something.’ said the other teen.
‘Boy! What’s your name?’
He gestured to Grandma ‘Rodney.’
‘This isn’t working.’ The first teen cried.
Rodney panicked. ‘Their packing up, what do we do?’
‘Giving ‘em what they want.’ Replied Grandma, throwing the board across the room as the teens screamed.
