Me

by William Morgan

I was walking to work, and stood flabbergasted when I saw me walking in the opposite direction. He looked just like me. My doppelganger.

After getting over the shock, I followed.., me?

He arrived at my house. Knocked. My wife, Susan,  answered. She looked apprehensive at first, until he took her in his arms and kissed her passionately.

They went in. An hour passed. Then, he left. Susan looked happy, very happy. I hadn’t seen her like that in years.

As he walked off, she looked at him with such love, it broke my heart.

Devastated, I walked away.

Forever.
