Lurkers

They crawled up through all the far flung shadows, slithering into the hazy light that had always been their hovering beacon since the forgotten terrors before the beginning of time. It had been their savage world back then, fiery and black, but they’d been banished to an underground gloom for endless eons, sleeping a deathly sleep. But now they were finally unleashed and summoned back again to reclaim what was once theirs. Beneath a crackling full moon, a netherworld army of monstrous creatures crept into the night, colossal stomachs rumbling, eagerly sniffing for the smell of flesh.
