As we’re entering the new year, we’re going to shift our focus slightly. We’re going to work toward adding more author interviews, more articles on writing and publishing, some regular columns, regular magazine profiles, and yes, even some editorials.
In that spirit, we’re looking for volunteers to take on some of these projects.
You don’t have to have experience, though it certainly won’t hurt, but you do need to have the time and the enthusiasm to carry through. Here’s what we need:
One person to do two magazine profiles each month. These are short 400-500 articles that essentially offer a little background and history on the publication, a few short quotes from the editor, an explanation of the focus of the publication, and basic information such as title, website address, price, publication schedule, etc.
Two people who will take the initiative to go after and interview horror authors. Each person to do one interview per month, working with the author to provide insight into his or her work, perspective on the horror genre, upcoming projects, etc.
Articles on writing horror or publishing horror.
A regular column about writing horror.
And we’re open to other column proposals.
If you’re interested, all you have to do is use the contact form here: Interested, tell us what you’d like to do, provide any experience you think might help or samples you think might impress, plus your name and email address. We’ll get back to you within a day or two.
Unfortunately, these are not paid positions. However, they will provide you with a solid presence in the horror field.
Are you ready for the challenge?
