This is just too good not to pass on. David Walliams, the children’s book author whose Gangsta Granny is killing the charts in the UK, will now be releasing Demon Dentist, a dark children’s tale. For those of you who would like to ease your children to the wonders of horror stories with a few laughs thrown it for good measure, this could be a good way to do it.
From the HarperCollins UK website:
We’re delighted to announce that the hugely anticipated new children’s novel from the UK’s fastest growing children’s author, David Walliams, will be called Demon Dentist and is set to be published in hardback this September. With the news that the Gangsta Granny paperback is in its staggering seventeenth consecutive week at number 1, Demon Dentist is sure to be another ground-breaking hit.
Demon Dentist is a jaw-achingly funny and teeth-chatteringly thrilling tale about an evil dentist who has an over-the-top devotion to teeth extractions and how one special boy and his dreamer dad finally stand up to this drilling-crazed villain. Demon Dentist will be David’s sixth children’s book and will be illustrated by the amazing Tony Ross, who worked with the author on three of his previous titles.
Talking about the book, Ann-Janine Murtagh, Publisher of HarperCollins Children’s Books, said, “David is on top form with this gloriously original and flamboyantly dark new tale. With all the hallmarks of a Walliams classic, David’s imaginative flair takes readers on an epic adventure with a super-villain so rotten, fans will get hooked from page one.”
David said, “Demon Dentist is my very first horror story, with an unspeakably evil villainess at its centre. I hope children of all ages will love the new book’s combination of chills, action and of course comedy.”
Demon Dentist will be published in September 2013, and you can pre-order ithere.
