ChiZine Publications has expanded its online market for eBooks to include Crossroad Press, Wowio, and Amazon.com.

With the arrival of Amazon’s Kindle and the eBook reader, the last few years have revolutionized the practice of reading and buying books by taking it from paper to the screen. In fact, statistics from the International Digital Publishing Forum (IDPF) have recorded a four-fold increase in the sale of eBooks from January 2009 to January 2010. As a result, publishers are branching out into the online market of downloadable eBooks.

As of May 2010, ChiZine Publications has joined this new development with eBook versions of current and past books available online at three new venues (previously, CZP eBooks had only been available at Horror Mall). Download your favourite CZP books at these venues:

“From the beginning, we’ve been plugged in digitally,” says Co-Publisher Brett Alexander Savory. “We used Twitter and Facebook to reach out to fans and they responded. We think eBooks will grow, and grow fast, as mobile devices like smartphones and things like the iPad become the way people consume digital entertainment. And though some say there are risks of piracy, we’re not using DRM technology, which we see as getting in the way of our user’s ability to enjoy our titles.”
