Jason Dark: From a Watery Grave
Posted by: | CommentsJason Dark: Ghost Hunter is a series of gothic horror dime novels where Jason Dark, a fearless and resourceful ghost hunter, follows in the mold of a Sherlock Holmes combined with Randall Garrett’s Lord D’Arcy. Written by Guido Henkel, the designer who brought Germany’s famed Das Schwarze Auge series to computer screens, this series is filled with enough mystery, drama and suspenseful action to transport you to the sinister, fog-shrouded streets of Victorian England.
In From a Watery Grave, a quaint seaside town seems the ideal place for an English summer holiday. Little do its inhabitants suspect, that a century-old curse is about to throw their idyllic existence into turmoil and terror. Wraith-like, the black ghosts of undead mariners spread their cloak of horror over Pegwell Bay, the lure of their cursed gold too much for most to resist. Can Jason Dark and Siu Lin find the key to unlock their secrets and lift the curse from beyond the grave before more innocent townspeople die, or will some villainous trickery put even their own lives in jeopardy?
The sixth installment in the Jason Dark: Ghost Hunter series is available now for free in your web browser at Jason Dark Series, or as a print dime novel for only $2.99. Additionally, you can get the PDF version for your computer or buy an eBook version for eBook readers like the Kindle, Kobo, Nook or iPad for only $2.99 also, and have it delivered straight to your device!
American Vampire
Posted by: | CommentsAmerican Vampire, the new comic series written by Stephen King and Scott Snyder with artwork by Rafael Albuquerque and published by Vertigo Comics, is scheduled for an October 5th release.
Description: When notorious outlaw Skinner Sweet is attacked by an old enemy (who happens to be a member of the undead), the first American vampire is born … a vampire powered by the sun, stronger, fiercer and meaner than anything that came before. Pearl Jones is a struggling young actress in 1920′s Los Angeles. But when her big break brings her face-to-face with an ancient evil, her Hollywood dream quickly turns into a brutal, shocking nightmare.
This is the beginning of an epic new series, spanning decades and generations, and it all begins here.
Here’s the trailer …
“One of the things that happens when you write something like this is the themes start to suggest themselves. No matter what format you’re working in, whether it’s short stories, novels, or comics, you oughta be writing about something or you’re wasting your time,” King says. “And it seemed to me that this was about time, and how we get older. I loved the whole concept of the vampire—the most attractive thing about it is that you never age.”

Top Shelf Announces Investment Deal
Posted by: | CommentsCo-Publishers Chris Staros and Brett Warnock of independent graphic novel and comic book publisher Top Shelf Productions have announced that it has entered into a capital investment deal with new media entrepreneur John S. Johnson, and independent film producer Anthony Bregman.
Johnson, and Likely Story, Bregman’s film production company, have purchased a 33% interest in Top Shelf Productions, Inc. Johnson will join the board of Top Shelf, and Likely Story will get a first-look deal for all new Top Shelf publications for possible film and TV development.
This deal represents a supportive investment in the company; one that leaves Chris Staros and Brett Warnock as majority stockholders (and firmly in control of the company), but also brings to bear the resources, skills and connections of John and Anthony in helping the company expand and grow over time.
The first project slated for development by Likely Story is Alex Robinson’s critically acclaimed Too Cool to Be Forgotten, named one of Amazon.com’s Top Ten Graphic Novels of the Year and considered his best work to date.
Too Cool to Be Forgotten tells the story of a 40-something father of two who undergoes hypnosis therapy to quit smoking, only to transport back to 1985 and his formative years as a gangly, awkward teenager. Forced to live through his high school years with all the knowledge of his later life; uncertain whether he is destined to relive the mistakes of his past or if he has been given a second chance to get things right.
