“Who…” the man stammered, “What are you people?”
Danny cocked his head and sniffed of the man’s stink.
“We’re the good guys.”
The Blackguards are an eclectic group with various mysterious and interesting pasts. There’s Danny Byrne, an Irishman with an ancient secret and a fondness for liquor. He’s older than he looks, notoriously hard to kill, and with a rough sense of humor. There’s Dixon Kane, who’s not entirely human but with hope for redemption. After years of exploring the darker side of his psyche, he’s trying to even the scales of his own life. Anyika is an ex-schoolteacher and Gullah witch, with hereditary gifts she’s still learning to use and all the reason in the world for seeking revenge. Switch is a Choctaw with an affinity for the mechanical and a degree from MIT. His loyalty is to the leader of the Blackguards. Bringing them all together is General Zachary Lee, a man with more than a lifetime of experience in battle, and the strength of will to keep this diverse group working as a team.
Blood Savages is a fast paced ride through the back roads of the South. The Blackguards are an autonomous unit with unconventional skills and knowledge that make them the perfect group to take on legendary monsters as well as modern-day greedy corporate evils. This cast of characters is smart-mouthed, dangerous, and not afraid to play down and dirty. So strap yourself in and hold on, because there isn’t much time to catch your breath.
This is the first novel in the Blackguard series. Part horror, part action-adventure, and all fun – I’m looking forward to the next installment.
