Breaking Glass Pictures has announced the March 27 release of the critically acclaimed horror-comedy anthology The Gruesome Death of Tommy Pistol (SRP $24.99). Director Aramis Sartorio, hailed by critics as the Best of 2011, releases “a triumph of imagination and invention, a truly original work,” according to Pop Matters and “proves himself to be a capable filmmaker, both as a writer and as Director,” according to Terror Hook. Gruesome Death is a pitch black comedy, ending with obsession.

The Gruesome Death of Tommy Pistol follows the disappointing life of struggling actor Tommy Pistol, who has turned his back on family and friends to pursue his dream of stardom. When he finally hits rock bottom, Tommy seeks solace in a penis pump and finds himself in a fantasy world where he pursues bloody vengeance against those who’ve put him down. What he doesn’t realize is that his whole life has been leading up to the moment when he awakes to find that he’s run out of second chances, and despite his regret, there is no going back.

Viewers can continue the hilarious nightmare of Tommy Pistol with over three hours of bonus features. These include director’s commentary, interviews with cast including Caleb Emerson, Sartorio and the composer, behind-the-scenes footage, the exclusive director’s cut of FunnyorDie’s Space Camp featuring Joanna Angel, a featurette of the first sketch comedy troupe from Queens, the official Gruesome Death Drinking Game, two music videos, an 18-track soundtrack, a special featurette showcasing director Aramis Sartorio’s heavy metal band Amorea and more.

Gruesome Death has captivated viewers and made top horror films lists for 2011 as well as being named Best of the 2011 Pollygrind Film Festival. BeyondHollywood proclaimed Gruesome Death, “a no-budget masterpiece of impossibly tasteless comedy and deeply gruesome gore.”
