This one is just too good to not tell you about. Stephen King’s iconic Carrie is going uptown. According to an article in the Minneapolis Star Tribune, The Shining will be adapted by the Minnesota Opera and will debut in May of 2016. The process to obtain the rights was fairly arduous, but everyone was able to come to an agreement. The one thing everyone agrees with is that the project must remain true to the book. I don’t know about you, but this just might get me to go to the opera, something my wife has tried to get me to do for a long time.
Um, the opera is “The Shining,” not “Carrie.” The article at the Minneapolis Star Tribune has as its title “Stephen King’s ‘The Shining’ heads to Minnesota Opera.”
Good catch. I’m trying to come up with a witty reason why the mistake was made, but evidently my ability to come up with snappy comebacks is as bad as my editorial skill. Thanks for pointing it out. Corrections have been made.
