The December 14 issue of the Wall Street Journal includes an article on Robert E. Howard. Perhaps best known as the creator of Conan the Barbarian, Howard was honored recently during the 2006 World Fantasy Convention, held in Austin, TX, also home state to Mr. Howard. Howard’s typewriter thundered out action stories from his modest home in Crossplains, TX, sparking life into swashbuckler Solomon Kane, warrior Kull, and the ancient king Bran Mak Morn along with barbarian Conan. WSJ writer John J. Miller takes a look at the legacy of Howard in “From Pen to Sword.”
