Sneak preview of Friday the 13th documentary, author panels also on tap

Pittsburgh, PA – September 10, 2013 – Horror Realm has released the film and panel schedule for its 5th anniversary fall convention next weekend (September 20-22) at the Crowne Plaza Pittsburgh South.  Highlights include:

– The world premiere of locally made “Jagoff Massacre” on Saturday at 11 AM.  On a cold winter night in the Greenfield neighborhood of Pittsburgh, PA, two local drunks by the name of Chosky and Stutch run afoul of a group of inept Satanists. As a chase ensues through Pittsburgh, blood will be shed! It’s time to Red up Pittsburgh!  Filmmaker Tim Gross says “Jagoff Massacre is literally yinzers making fun of yinzers in a no budget film that we hope people who live in Pittsburgh or ever been anywhere near it will get the joke.  Or just have a beer and a laugh.”

– The Japanese cut of Troma Films “The Toxic Avenger”, which includes four minutes of added footage

– Sneak peeks of documentaries from writer/producer Thommy Hutson – “Crystal Lake Memories: The Complete History of Friday the 13th” and “More Brains! A Return to the Living Dead”.

– Literary panels featuring authors Mike Watt, Will Bozarth, Nelson Pyles and Eric Lowther.  There will also be a panel discussing how authors can self publish, led by Christine Rickert, owner of Eljay’s Used Books in Dormont.

– A screening of “Adjust Your Tracking”, a “documentary that sheds light on the underground VHS culture and the people who still collect and cherish what many call a ‘dead format.’”  Horror Realm also features a VHS viewing room all weekend that features horror films that have never been released to DVD.

Panels and movies are open only to convention pass holders, guests and vendors.  The full schedule is included below.

Tickets may be purchased in advance or at the door.  Weekend passes are $35; single day (Fri or Sat) $15; two-day (Sat/Sun) $20 and Sunday admission is only $10.
