Little Girls’ Games

by: K.Z. Morano

I’ve always hated Red… always envied her pretty riding hood.

“Come on, let’s play dress-up,” she said.

“Can I be the wolf this time?” I asked.

But I already knew what she was gonna say. “You’re too short to be the Big Bad Wolf.”

I watched jealously as she slipped into the wolf’s luxurious fur.

Must be like being embraced by fluffy black clouds…

Pouting, I put on granny’s wrinkly though well-preserved skin then hopped into the bed where her corpse had been…

I promised myself that someday, I’m gonna wear that fur, that hood… and maybe my sister, too.
