If you’re a budding Canadian horror filmmaker in British Columbia and you are looking for your first break, then the Okanagan Society of Independent Filmmaking may be a great place for you to start.  Details from their website are below:

If you’re a local filmmaker and are into fangora, horror or any blood-letting genre, the Okanagan Society of Independent Filmmaking is looking for you.

The local film society’s popular HorrorFest is returning for it’s fifth year and hopes to add to a record number of entries from last year.

“Last year we screened 12 local horror films and now we’re looking to fill our HorrorFest lineup with some new blood (pun intended),” said a spokesperson for the OSIF.

“If you have a short horror, thriller, or dark drama film… submit it to OSIF for consideration in this year’s HorrorFest!”

There is more than just the satisfaction of seeing your film played on a big screen as well, with more than $1000 in prizes to be won.

Deadline for submissions is mid-October.  Contact [email protected] for more information.

Meanwhile, any interested persons are welcome to join the Okanagan Society of Independent Filmmaking at the Pulp Fiction Coffee House on Thursday, July 11 at  7 pm for the society’s annual general meeting. Come for a coffee, come to network, come to talk about films, come to find help with your project, or come to just say hello.

Pulp Fiction Coffee House is located on 1598 Pandosy Street in Kelowna
