cabinet of curiositiesFrom the press release:

Writer-director Guillermo del Toro has a new book coming out and the title could serve as the first chapter: “Guillermo del Toro Cabinet of Curiosities: My Notebooks, Collections, and Other Obsessions.”

The dark fantasy wunderkind, who created the mythical tales “Hellboy,” “Pan’s Labyrinth” and the summer hit “Pacific Rim,” shares for the first time the behind-the-scenes workings of his creative process.

The book is packed with details on del Toro’s home and office, private journals, filmmaking diaries, drawings and notes on characters he has yet to unleash.

Co-written with best-selling science-fiction author and filmmaker Marc Scott Zicree, the pages are peppered with interviews detailing del Toro’s foray into the “mainstays of horror.”

The book from HarperCollins imprint Harper Design is out Oct. 29.
