The next Fantastic Fiction at KGB reading series get together, hosted by Ellen Datlow and Matthew Kressel, will present Holly Black, the bestselling author of several novels, including Valiant, winner of the Andre Norton Award for Excellence in Young Adult Literature. Her most recent novels are White Cat and Red Glove of the Curseworkers series, and the third in the series Black Heart, will be out in 2012. Holly’s short fiction has appeared in numerous anthologies and is collected in Poison Eaters and Other Stories. In addition, Holly has co-edited three anthologies and is working on the third volume of her graphic novel series The Good Neighbors.

Also reading will be Lauren McLaughlin, a former screenwriter whose short fiction has appeared in Salon.com, Interzone, Sybil’s Garage, and Year’s Best SF. Her first novel, Cycler, based on her own screen adaptation is in development and the sequel, (Re)Cycler, was nominated for the American Library Association’s Rainbow List for LGBT fiction. Her latest novel, the dystopian YA thriller, Scored, has been described as a “terrifyingly realistic.”

It’s all happening on Wednesday October 19th, 7pm at KGB Bar, 85 East 4th Street (just off 2nd Ave, upstairs.)
