The most ambitious project from award-winning Portland, Oregon based specialty publisher Dark Regions Press to date, I AM THE ABYSS, is a new fiction anthology of horror and dark fantasy containing ten unique interpretations of the underworld by ten different authors. The Kickstarter campaign launch date is now official: Tuesday, August 11th, 2015.
Based on the concept that after we die our consciousness inverts into our own realms of subconscious thought, I AM THE ABYSS will contain original novella length stories written exclusively for the project by Laird Barron, Caitlin R. Kiernan, Steve Rasnic Tem, Michael Marshall Smith, Jeffrey Thomas, Reggie Oliver, Kealan Patrick Burke and three more bestselling authors of horror and dark fantasy.
Award-winning artist Les Edwards is creating an original two-page panoramic color spread to precede each story, giving us a window into each respective underworld. World renowned artist Menton3 will be creating an original artwork that will be used as a Kickstarter-exclusive front cover for the book.
I AM THE ABYSS will be printed in a unique 8″x8″ size, presenting the original color artwork by Les Edwards in sixteen stunning inches across both pages. The book will be offered in two unique signed limited hardcover editions: Your Heart is Black and I Am Gateway.
