Toronto-based ChiZine Publications (CZP) will launch their Spring 2011 books when dark genre fiction authors Gemma Files, Claude Lalumière, Brent Hayward and David Nickle become dealers in a fans vs. authors Blackjack game to launch new ChiZine publications titles. The event will be hosted by the literary landmark This is Not Reading Series (TINARS) at the Gladstone Hotel Ballroom on Monday, April 11 at 7:00pm.

The evening features a series of black jack tables where attendees get the chance to play at a table with one of the authors for a chance to win free books. Authors will interview each other round-robin style and the evening will close with a special “Lost Myths” presentation by Claude Lalumière, a playful medley of cryptomythological fiction, pantheons, and bestiaries accompanied by artwork by Rupert Bottenberg.

“Because the majority of our Spring 2011 authors are returning for their second books with us, we wanted to offer something out of the ordinary,” says ChiZine Publications Managing Editor Helen Marshall. “These are some of the most inventive, genre-bending authors we’ve had the pleasure to work with and they’ve made a stellar impact on the Canadian dark fiction market.”

The CZP/TINARS event will be on Monday, April 11, 2011 at the Gladstone Hotel Ballroom at 7:00 PM. Admission is $5.00 or free with a book purchase. For more information, please visit: TINARS
