Subterranean Press has announced three new collections. The first of three is by new writer Daniel Abraham, author of The Long Price Quartet and Hunter’s Run (with George R. R. Martin and Gardner Dozois). “Leviathan Wept and Other Stories may well be the best debut collection we’ve seen since Joe Hill’s 20th Century Ghosts,” says the publisher.

Limited: 200 signed numbered copies with bonus chapbook of additional stories: $40
Trade: Fully cloth bound hardcover copies: $25

Next up is Journeys by Ian R. MacLeod, whose most recent novel, The Song of Time, won the 2009 Campbell award. Journeys gathers nine tales, including “The Hob Carpet,” a stunningly horrific novella, as well as “The Master Miller’s Tale,” another novella, this one a return to the world of his popular novels The Light Ages and The House of Storms.

Special Offer: The first 30 customers to order a copy of Journeys will receive free a trade hardcover copy of Ian’s novel, The Song of Time. Limit one copy per customer.

Limited: 750 signed numbered hardcover copies: $40

Finally, we have a long gathering of the best recent work by Australian writer Terry Dowling. Collectors may remember that his collection from Cemetery Dance, Basic Black, sold out within a month of publication a few years ago. We have no reason to believe that Amberjack: Tales of Fear & Wonder will be any different, with its heady mix of sf, fantasy, and horror. Dowling’s a singular writer, shown to good effect in this new collection.
