Michael McCarty – the author of over 20 books including Masters of Imagination, Esoteria-Land and A Hell of a Job – has seen the release of three new projects. First is Monster Behind The Wheel, a horror novel by McCarty and Mark McLaughlin and published by Medallion Press. We previously posted on this one here: Monster Behind The Wheel.

Second is Liquid Diet & Midnight Snack, a vampire satire by Michael McCarty, published by Whiskey Creek Press. As the blood-red sun sets over the Chicago skyline real-life vampire, Andrew Bloodsworth makes his way into WOLF 99.9 FM, an all-night radio station hosted by the beautiful Bella Donna, Goth queen of the airwaves. As Bloodsworth reveals how he first became a vampire and the dark secrets and desires of the undead, listeners call in to talk to the undead writer. Most of the listeners are vampire and horror enthusiasts who are overjoyed to talk to a real life vampire, but OTTO — the Opposition To The Occult, a religious right-wing organization — is also listening to the radio show, and they’re not amused. If that wasn’t enough, tabloid TV host, Harry Winger, who features equally outrageous guests on his program, wants Bloodsworth to appear on his show. Plus, the Amazing Kreskin, the world’s foremost mentalist, has just had a premonition of imminent disaster. What will happen next? Tune in to find out!

And finally, on the nonfiction side, McCarty has seen the release of Modern Mythmakers, a collection of 33 original interviews that provides firsthand accounts from many of the entertainment industry’s most influential writers, filmmakers, and entertainers. Interviews includes science fiction, horror and fantasy film icons Elvira, Herschell Gordon Lewis, Ingrid Pitt, Reggie Bannister, from Dark Shadows Dan Curtis, Lara Parker and Kathryn Leigh Scott, the Night of the Living Dead film crew of John Russo, Kyra Schon and Russ Streiner. Conversation also with world-renowned genre authors Ray Bradbury, Peter Straub, John Saul, Bentley Little, Neil Gaiman, Dean Koontz, Richard Matheson ,Connie Willis, Darce Stoker, Christopher Moore and more. Forward by The Amazing Kreskin and an afterword by three-time Bram Stoker Award winner Charlee Jacob. Published by Bear Manor Media, you can find out more here: Modern Mythmakers
