The Asylum

by Sheldon Woodbury

It was only when he was locked away in the ghastly Asylum that he met others who thought he wasn’t crazy. He’d been running for most of his life to escape the murderous clutches of the depraved spirit hunting him down. The others swarmed around him with clattering teeth and shivering bodies, hundreds of eyes shattered with fear, because they were being hunted too. At the stroke of midnight, they suddenly knew it was near, much nearer than ever before, because when they clutched each other for comfort, the Asylum howled and grabbed them too.
