Keep Your Mouth Shut

They are trying to escape! I clamp my mouth shut,determined to win this time.


The pain is excruciating. They’re ramming their little bodies against my teeth. My hands hold my jaw. They will not escape. Not tonight. They will-

Damn!- they are stabbing the roof of my mouth.Then there is a boom! and my two front teeth explode. Black smoke billows from the gap. My mouth burns, and I scream.

They escape again.

Out comes my conscious, my empathy, my humanity.

I roar with exultation.

Now, I can hunt
