Donald M. Grant, the man behind Donald M. Grant Publisher, Inc. passed away on August 19th. His publishing company was founded in 1964 and had been producing specialty books in the fantasy genre for over 45 years. Over that period the company published substantially more than 100 quality titles, placing an emphasis on time-honored book design and an abundance of full color and black and white illustrations.

While the company published such authors as Ambrose Bierce, Joseph Payne Brennan, Ramsey Campbell, Les Daniels, Charles L. Grant, Dennis Etchison, H. P. Lovecraft, and others, it was probably best known for its top-of-the-line, signed limited editions of Stephen King’s The Dark Tower series.

In 2003, he won a World Fantasy Life Achievement Award.

Grant was 82.
