“Books constitute capital. A library book lasts as long as a house, for hundreds of years.”
– Thomas Jefferson (1743-1826)

The Cobb County Library Foundation is seeking the support of author in their largest fundraising and social event of the year.

“We are asking authors to help us with our efforts by contributing 6-8 autographed books that will used as centerpieces for our VIP tables. The table will be designated as the ‘Authors Name’ table and will have a picture and bio of the Author.”

Georgia Attorney General Sam Olens and his wife, Lisa, are the honorary chairs of the Gala, along with Rob Garcia, President of the Bank of North Georgia, and his wife Teena. The inaugural Gala last year was attended by more than 300 dignitaries, including the entire Cobb County Board of Commissioners, and raised significant funds to support the Library System. Dignitaries and their guests attending this occasion will dine at tables that will feature each individual author using the items being requested. Libraries exist because of authors like you and they want to recognize your works. By partnering with them, you will strengthen their efforts and continue to enrich lives and promote literacy in Cobb County.

“We hope that you will join us as a partner, in promoting reading and literacy, by sending in your contributions, biography and photograph by August 1st. These can be mailed to Cobb Library Foundation, 266 Roswell Street, Marietta, Georgia 30060.

“We look forward to this opportunity to come together to raise support for this great cause and keep libraries alive in our community.”

If you have any questions, or need further information about the Gala, please contact Mary Ellen Leffard, the Executive Director of the Foundation, at 770.528.2196 or via email at [email protected].
