Zenescope Entertainment has announced plans to release a follow up to their hit comic book series, The Waking, first published by the company in 2010. The new series, entitled The Waking: Dreams End, is written by Raven Gregory (FLY, Return To Wonderland) with interior art by Novo Malgapo (Grimm Fairy Tales).

In 2010, The Waking redefined zombie mythology and stood out as a unique offering in a crowded genre. The Waking: Dreams End picks up years after the original events took place. Murder has become practically extinct in a world armed with the knowledge that those who are killed will return from the dead to take the lives of their killers. But within this new world comes a new kind of killer and an original breed of horror will be born.

"Several months after the release of The Waking, I had a splinter of an idea that just grew and grew over the course of the past year. Says Writer Raven Gregory, I knew I needed to follow up the original story and set it in a brand new world. In The Waking, we established all the rules but in Dreams End, we find someone who has found a way to break those rules. And now the stakes are raised to a higher level and it's really going to mess with fan's minds."

The original series received much critical acclaim and was praised by the Philadelphia Daily News as well as many comic book news websites for its unique blend of horror, suspense and comedy and its original take on the zombie mythos.

The Waking: Dreams End #1 hits shelves in late April and is currently available for order through Diamond Previews. Go to Zenescope's website and Facebook page for more information.

Zenescope Entertainment was founded by Joe Brusha and Ralph Tedesco in 2005 and has quickly grown into one of the top comic book and graphic novel publishing companies in the world. Zenescope's Grimm Fairy Tales and subsequent spinoff series such as Escape From Wonderland, Neverland and The Piper, which put a dark twist on classic fables, are some of the best-selling and longest running original independent comic books on shelves today. Zenescope's licensed titles include the on-going, critically acclaimed Charmed series, based off of the long-running popular television series, as well as Se7en and Final Destination, based off of New Line Cinema's successful film franchises.

Image Comics and Shadowline have announced Rebel Blood, a new four-part miniseries coming in March with art and concept by Riley Rossmo (Green Wake, Cowboy Ninja Viking, Proof) and script by newcomer Alex Link. This gruesome new 21st century zombie outbreak story pays tribute to horror comics' post-war heyday of titles such as The Vault of Horror, The Haunt of Fear, and Tales From the Crypt, while presenting a concept to rival the best of The Twilight Zone.

"I sketch and paint all the time while I'm working on different projects," explained Rossmo. "The concept for Rebel Blood is something that just began as some sketches, but quickly took on a life of it's own, to mutate. Rebel Blood is what happens when I just run wild with a concept and let it happen."

"I'm really excited about this project," said Shadowline Publisher, Jim Valentino. "I'm not a big zombie fan, but this one got me because it was so different than all the others out there. And, I swear, the ending knocked me off my chair. I think it will surprise everyone."

Rebel Blood #1 introduces Forest Ranger Chuck Neville, who, after a strange, unexpected silence, receives a final radio message that a plague is sweeping the country. He learns that the disease has turned every living creature into zombies, all at once rendering the entire animal kingdom unpredictable, violent, and willing to tear apart their neighbors with their bare teeth.

He races home to rescue his family, coming face-to-face with unbelievable horrors along his way and fighting to stay alive. However, when he reaches home, he may find the most horrible part of it all waiting for him...

Rebel Blood #1, a 32-page full-color horror comic book for .50, will be on sale in stores on March 28 and available for order in the January issue of Previews. A preview of Rebel Blood #1 will be featured in the back of both Haunt #20, a 32-page full-color horror comic book for .99 that goes on sale December 28, 2011, and Spawn #215, a 32-page full-color horror comic book for .99 that goes on sale January 11, 2012.

Publisher Mohawk Media has released the second issue of its new title, Dracula vs. Robin Hood vs. Jekyll & Hyde.

Not content with the title's legendary headliners, the publisher is promising several surprise guest stars.

British writer Chris Bunting says: "The second issue features not one, but two tyrants from the pages of history. Each will play a major role in the future of this series.

"Plus, a long forgotten character from the Robin Hood legend will make an overdue comeback.

"This flows directly into the ethos of this comic book: to give readers a thrilling ride through a clash of cultural titans. Expect twists and turns – including unexpected guest stars throughout the series."

Released via the publisher's paperless Eco Comics range, editor Stuart Buckley explains: "This digital comic book isn't some rough and ready webcomic. It is, for all intents and purposes, a top quality print comic book in everything but its physical format. In fact, it knocks spots off most print comic books.

"The mission statement of Mohawk Media is to produce stories that are more concerned with being entertaining than edgy. We believe that writer Chris Bunting and artist JL Czerniawski are future stars, and they're showing exactly why with this series."

Dracula vs. Robin Hood vs. Jekyll & Hyde #2 is a twenty-page issue, and is available to order now in various digital formats via the Eco Comics store for $1.95 (approximately £1.20).

Dracula vs. Robin Hood vs. Jekyll & Hyde will initially be a three-issue monthly series available exclusively via the publisher's groundbreaking line of ECO COMICS. Further installments of the series, and other "versus" titles, are set to be announced.
