Borders CEO Mike Edwards sent out the following email to Borders Rewards members and others yesterday. Borders has been struggling for a time now, and its demise was not a surprise. Still, it’s a shame. Bookselling is going through a digital revolution that’s going to change the way people buy books in the near and distant future. Borders, Borders Express, and Waldenbooks are all closing. Barnes and Noble remains the last standing national bookselling chain.
