Apex Publishing, the publisher behind The Apex Book Of World SF and the Stoker Award-nominated Mama’s Boy collection, has announced the acquisition of Lavie Tidhar’s An Occupation Of Angels, a short novel that exemplify Tidhar’s skills blending dark fantasy and religious mythology.

Description: Shadow Executive Killarney is a woman who kills angels for a living. After killing Raphael, Archangels start dying around her as well. Wherever she goes, they are murdered. While she knows she is not the one performing these murders, she (and every other shadow organization) knows that they are somehow connected to her. This mystery will take her all over the world and into the icy desert of Siberia where an experiment gone wrong will end in a confrontation of angels, Nazis and God.

Lavie Tidhar is the author of the linked-story collection HebrewPunk, novellas An Occupation of Angels, Cloud Permutations, and Gorel & The Pot-Bellied God. With Nir Yaniv, he co-authored the short novel The Tel Aviv Dossier. Lavie has also edited the anthologies A Dick & Jane Primer for Adults and The Apex Book of World SF.

An Occupation Of Angels is scheduled for release in February, 2010. Pre-orders begin winter 2009.
